THE DIABLITA DIFFERENCE
WHY ARE WE NAMED AFTER THE DEVIL?
Part of it is about being bold and playful, assertive and daring. The last thing clients facing serious criminal charges need is an attorney who is a wallflower. Mild manners don’t work when things get tough. Clients of la Diablita appreciate her tenacity, power, and courtroom charm. Not just a silver-tongued devil, Atty. García Falone prides herself on improving the public perception of lawyers. When it comes to her client’s interests, la Diablita is anything but devil-may-care.
The other reason for the name is a bit of a tongue-in-cheek reference to how criminal defense is often viewed by the public. Concepts like virtue and sin, redemption and punishment, and repentance and atonement are heavily woven into every discussion of criminal behavior. Atty. García Falone acknowledges the life circumstances of her clients and how that background provides the necessary context to inform their case as a whole. Never scandalized to hear her client’s perspective on their charges, la Diablita is fond of the saying, “there but for the grace of God go I.”
Fundamentally, Atty. García Falone’s criminal defense practice is based on the idea that every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. In her role as an advocate, la Diablita strives to personally know her clients– to understand who they are and what they have at stake, so she knows just what to protect. That’s doing the Lord’s work.
WHAT WE DO
We practice comprehensive criminal defense. Atty. García Falone handles all types of criminal law cases, from violent crimes to property crimes to sex (crimes), drugs (crimes), and (no rock ‘n’ roll, yet) white collar crimes. She approaches her work with a bit of levity, recognizing that clients facing criminal charges are justifiably anxious about the ultimate outcome of their pending cases. On occasion, she represents clients for matters arising out of or related to their criminal cases, including family law matters and other civil proceedings.
